Intake Specialist - Temporary to Full-Time

Breakthrough Behavior currently has offices in Maitland, FL, Stafford, VA and Salinas, CA. This position will report to our Headquarters offices located in the Maitland area.

Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Intake Manager, the Intake Specialist is responsible for the onboarding of new clients into the clinic. They will gather information, oversee the process, and resolve any issues in regard to services.   

Responsibilities and Duties (includes, but not limited to the following):

  1. Provide all families and clients with excellent customer service and meet the standards set forth by the Intake Manager

  2. Perform Verification of Benefits for each client upon the first contact, and relay those benefits to the client family

  3. Serve as point of contact for families and answer any/all questions in an accurate and knowledgeable manner

  4. Update waitlist and keep accurate records of any and all phone calls

  5. Obtain new client paperwork from families and help families gather the documentation they need

  6. Review and input insurance information into practice management software

  7. Network with local groups and physicians to establish new referral sources

  8. Meet with families and coordinated clinic tours as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Prefer 2 years or more experience in healthcare or related field (ABA experience a plus, but not necessary)

  • Prefer medical insurance experience; Ability to interpret benefits and physician documents

  • Strong multi-tasking ability able to prioritize competing responsibilities  

  • Ability to problem solve effectively and analyze situations

  • Must be an independent starter with an outgoing personality

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Bilingual English/Spanish Required
