Data Analyst - Temporary to Full-Time

Job Summary 

The Data Analyst (DA) serves as an expert resource for the collection of data, analysis, evaluation of complex operational resources, services, programs, systems, and procedures. The Data Analyst will assist leadership in obtaining complex information from various financial, clinical and operational systems, and data sources. Additionally, the Data Analyst will provide reports to leadership and stakeholders as needed. 

Responsibilities

  1. Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports to reporting supervisor and stakeholders
  2. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems 
  3. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  4. Filter and scrub data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  5. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  6. Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting to leadership as needed
  7. Collect and evaluate utilization data from Practice Management System and Financial Software
  8. Willingness to work in ambiguity regarding data, and showcasing tenacity to research and resolve problems relative to the data
  9. Maintaining confidentiality of all information under HIPPA guidelines

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Finance or related field. 
  • The equivalent of five to six (5-6) years of experience exhibiting advanced performance in healthcare operations, revenue cycle, and/or financial reporting 
  • Experience working in healthcare preferred
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and lean processes preferred
  • Proficiency in Practice Management Systems (PMS), Electronic Medical Records (EHR), and Business Intelligence Tools (BI) 
  • Advanced PC literacy in spreadsheet generation, data management, word processing, and Visio.
